La metamorfosi by Kafka ends up being an artist's book, since it uses a somewhat peculiar communication to convey the story. The design, every technical choice and every element that makes up this book come together with the aim of fully introducing you into the plot. At the same time, another characteristic is the final need for this book to be reproduced in physical form, due to the importance of being able to touch and manipulate it for the communication to be complete.
The main idea is based on representing how the protagonist of this story, Gregorio Samsa, a humble merchant who overnight is turned into a giant beetle, and with that, his whole life is completely ruined. As if they were an accumulation of all his emotions, the book begins at the end and the pages, single-sided and irregular (different shape and material) are added little by little, forming this intricate and disturbing story.
The cover is interactive and coherent with the general theme: layers. Formed by various shapes at different levels, which can be rotated to arrange or disarrange the letters.
